can someone recommend a cheap attorney for a family law case?

i currently have a case open with county of orange child support office, but i need an attorney to help me with my case…since i have to pay for everything i don’t have a lot of money for an “honest attorney”…

    In ILL we have something called the Land of Lincoln. They do pro bono work, most states have these. Call your local human service department(welfare) department, and they should give you the agency to help you. Good luck.

    The best way to find a good attorney is to go to the court house and sit in on hearings and observe the attorney’s at work.
    Call and ask when domestic cases are being heard (here they have alot of them on Friday mornings and call it ‘love court’) and then spend the morning watching the attorneys. If you see one you really like, wait until they are done or go out for a break and go talk to them!

    I am in a similar circumstance. I searched a website called targetlaw and found a handful of lawyers and started calling around. Most of the lawyers especially if you are a woman will work out a payment plan for you. Search for “your state” family lawyer ie California Family Lawyer. It should give you a ton of results; go to a dozen or so websites and see if they will work out a payment plan with you (some of the lawyers will put it on their website). When you contact them, just let them know your situation and find out if they will work out a monthly payment plan. This is the site:
